After getting ahead of the “Grand Canyon” in North America and “Djavolja Varos” rock formation in Serbia, the Belogradchik rocks are first in the category “Caves, rock formations and valleys”.

In seven categories compete total of 261 natural sites on all continents. The voting is currently running on http://www.new7wonders.com/ until July the 7th, when 77 of all competing sites will continue in the competition - 11 in each category. Then a jury of experts will identify the 21 objects, among which will ultimately be determined the new 7 wonders of the world. This will finally become clear in 2011.

Over 3.5 million people from Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, New Zealand, Russia, United States, Ukraine, Hungary etc., have already voted for the natural phenomen. Due to the high ranking of the Bulgarian natural phenomenon, in Belogradchik is expectеd a significant increase in the number of tourists this year.
